Harley Street Assessment Services for Children and Young People (Ages 2-18)
Specialist Speech and Language Assessment Services in the Heart of London
At our Harley Street location, we offer specialised assessment services tailored to children and young people aged 2-18. This service provides in-depth evaluations for a range of developmental and behavioural concerns, giving families clear insights and guidance on their child’s needs.
Areas of Assessment
Our assessments focus on key areas that may impact a child’s communication, learning, and behaviour, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD): Assessments focused on identifying signs of autism, including social communication, repetitive behaviours, and sensory sensitivities.
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): Evaluations designed to identify symptoms related to inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that may affect learning and social interactions.
- Language Disorders: Comprehensive assessments to understand language delays and disorders affecting a child’s ability to understand and use language effectively.
- Behavioural Concerns: Observations and evaluations aimed at understanding challenging behaviours, emotional regulation, and social interactions including selective mutism.
Our Harley Street assessments are structured to provide parents and carers with a detailed understanding of their child’s unique profile. Each assessment includes standardised testing (where applicable), observations, and tailored recommendations.
What to Expect
During the assessment, Hulya Mehmet, Consultant Speech and Language Therapist, will work closely with both the child and family to ensure a comfortable and thorough evaluation process. Hulya’s approach is supportive and family-centred, recognising that each child’s potential can be maximised with the right guidance and resources.
In addition to summarising assessment results, Hulya will provide personalised advice on supporting both the child and family. This includes guidance on strategies to help bring out the child’s maximum potential, with a focus on immediate actions and achievable goals.
You’ll also receive guidance for short, medium, and long-term steps to support your child’s communication, behaviour, and development at home, school, and in the ‘everyday’ social setting.
By outlining actionable advice and tailored strategies, Hulya ensures that families are equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to confidently support their child’s progress and development over time.
